Dave Bautista’s High-Stakes Heist: Teens vs. Cartel!

Dave Bautista's High-Stakes Heist: Teens vs. Cartel!

Thescreescore – Dave Bautista is gearing up for a showdown with a ruthless cartel in his upcoming action thriller, Trap House. However, a group of audacious teenagers has a different plan: rob the cartel blind before Bautista’s character even gets a chance. Reuniting Bautista with Michael Dowse, the director of Stuber, and co-written by Gary Scott Thompson, the mastermind behind the Fast and Furious franchise, Trap House stars Bautista as Ray Seale, an undercover DEA agent operating in El Paso, Texas, tasked with dismantling a cartel entrenched along the Mexican border.

While the DEA agents are busy with their operation, their teenage children, all attending the same high school, find themselves adrift when one of their friends moves away after the tragic death of their parent during a mission. Ray’s son, Cody, portrayed by Avatar alum Jack Champion, devises a daring plan: exploit their parents’ DEA intelligence to target and rob local cartel operations. This sets them on a collision course with danger, turning them and their parents into unwitting players in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

Ahead of its November 14 release, thescreescore.com is excited to exclusively reveal a brand-new clip and poster from Trap House. The clip showcases Cody rallying his teenage crew, including Sophia Lillis from IT, Whitney Peak from Hocus Pocus 2, and Zaire Adams from Senior Year, to pitch his audacious plan to rob the titular "Trap House" in an effort to support their relocated friend. The new poster offers a stylish glimpse into one of the group’s daring heists, showcasing other cast members, including Kate del Castillo from Bad Boys for Life.

While teen-led crime thrillers are not new, Trap House promises a unique take on the heist genre, pitting its young cast against a formidable cartel. It’s a rare instance of teenagers willingly entering such a high-stakes world, especially once the cartel becomes aware of their actions and retaliates with full force.

The clip offers a glimpse into the dynamics among the young cast. Champion’s Cody is clearly vying for leadership, while Lillis, in her first major action role since Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, appears to be the tactical mastermind. Peak embodies the voice of reason, and Adams brings a touch of unpredictability to the group.

Trap House is a significant project for Bautista, marking his final release of the year and his third producing venture after In The Lost Lands and Afterburn. However, unlike those projects, Bautista has been involved with Trap House since its inception, making its release one of his biggest as a producer. If successful on November 14, it could potentially launch a new franchise.
