Thescreescore – Jason Statham is set to reprise his role as Adam Clay in The Beekeeper 2, with Amazon MGM Studios confirming a theatrical release date of January 15, 2027. This places the sequel on Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, mirroring the successful launch strategy of the original film. The Beekeeper, which premiered on January 12, 2024, became a global hit, earning $162.6 million and garnering a 92% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Timo Tjahjanto takes over the director’s chair for the sequel, with Statham leading a cast that includes Jeremy Irons, Yara Shahidi, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, Pom Klementieff, and Adam Copeland. While Kurt Wimmer initially penned the script, Umair Aleem has since stepped in as the writer. Miramax is producing the film, which Amazon MGM Studios acquired in a deal exceeding $50 million.
Statham will also serve as a producer through his Punch Palace Productions, alongside Chris Long of Longshot Productions. The Beekeeper 2 is currently slated for release around the same time as Paramount’s Children of Blood and Bone and an untitled project from Universal and Blumhouse, setting the stage for a competitive box office showdown.
