Thescreescore – The buzz around Sadie Sink’s casting in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reached fever pitch, with fans scrambling to decipher her mystery role. The Stranger Things star, now navigating the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has finally addressed the swirling rumors surrounding her character after set photos sparked a frenzy of speculation.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Sink playfully acknowledged the fan theories, describing the experience of being spotted on set alongside Tom Holland. "Tom can wave at the fans because people know who he is, but then you get a glimpse of me, and I’m like a penguin. That’ll be the situation for a bit, it seems."

Addressing the persistent rumors linking her to Jean Grey, Sink revealed her surprise at the early speculation. "That was happening before I even knew that I would be working on this project," she stated, adding, "I was like, ‘Wait! What are people talking about?’"

As theories continue to evolve, with some suggesting she might portray Rachel Cole-Alves, a Punisher ally, Sink offered a cryptic response: "A lot of people forget that hair color can change, but, yeah, I understand all of the theories." Jon Bernthal is set to reprise his role as Frank Castle.
Ultimately, Sink remained tight-lipped, teasing, "People will just have to wait and see. I’m excited for all of it to maybe be put to rest."
With filming underway, speculation also points towards Sink potentially playing Gwen Stacy in the MCU. As of now, neither Sony Pictures nor Marvel Studios have officially confirmed her character.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and written by Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Stan Lee, and Steve Ditko, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is slated to swing into theaters on July 31, 2026.
