Thescreescore – Emma Roberts, known for her captivating performances in both film and television, is set to star in the highly anticipated film adaptation of Rebecca Serle’s New York Times bestselling novel, Expiration Dates. Amazon MGM Studios is developing the feature, bringing Serle’s poignant story to life with Roberts in the lead role, according to Deadline.
Expiration Dates tells the unique tale of Olive, a young woman who receives a mysterious slip of paper each time she meets a potential romantic partner. These slips reveal the person’s name and the precise duration of their relationship. The film promises to explore themes of fate, love, and the challenges of navigating relationships when armed with predetermined timelines.

This project adds to the growing list of adaptations based on Serle’s works. Her young adult novel, When You Were Mine, was previously adapted into Hulu’s Rosaline, a comedic take on Romeo and Juliet starring Kaitlyn Dever. Serle also developed the television series Famous In Love, based on her YA series, which starred Bella Thorne.
