During a Reddit AMA, Waldron revealed a discarded plotline he developed with Jeff Loveness. "Jeff Loveness and I spent an afternoon pitching on the Young Avengers defeating a version of Kang and being so stoked about it," Waldron stated. The twist? This particular Kang carried a card stating, "Be Patient with him, it was his first day as a Kang." The heroes’ elation would turn to disappointment. Waldron speculated this Kang might have been the "lizard Kang" from the end of "Kang Dynasty," emphasizing the fun they had brainstorming.
Following the shift to "Avengers: Doomsday," Stephen McFeely, a veteran of the MCU known for his work on the "Captain America" trilogy and the "Avengers: Infinity War/Endgame" saga, was brought on board to craft the new script.
