Thescreescore – George Clooney recently revealed that Brad Pitt still playfully taunts him about losing out on a pivotal role in the iconic film Thelma & Louise. In a candid interview with The Times while promoting his new movie, Jay Kelly, alongside Adam Sandler, Clooney reflected on the one that got away: the role of J.D., which ultimately launched Pitt into superstardom.
Clooney confessed that missing out on the part stung, admitting, "I got to the final test for a role in Thelma & Louise. And, motherfer, Brad got it." He harbored resentment for a while, especially as Pitt’s career skyrocketed while Clooney continued toiling in supporting roles on television. He even avoided watching the film for years, so bitter was the experience. "I didn’t watch Thelma & Louise for years because I was annoyed. The part launched his career in film. He was doing sitcoms and crap before, so when it was the thing that could’ve launched me? F!!" he exclaimed.

However, time has a way of softening even the most painful blows. Clooney eventually watched Thelma & Louise and conceded that Pitt was the perfect choice for J.D. According to Clooney, Pitt is well aware of his near-miss and never lets him forget it. "Oh yeah, he gives me s***," Clooney shared.

Sandler chimed in on the anecdote, playfully agreeing that Pitt was fantastic in the role, particularly during the infamous shirtless scene. "I saw that at the cinema and when Brad took his shirt off, people went nuts. But it should have been you, Clooney," Sandler joked.
