Thescreescore – After three years in development, Jamie Lee Curtis’ ambitious reimagining of the beloved 42-year-old mystery series, "Murder, She Wrote," has achieved a significant breakthrough. The project, aiming to bring the iconic Jessica Fletcher to a new generation, has officially secured a director, signaling a major step forward for the Universal remake.
The original "Murder, She Wrote," starring Angela Lansbury as the astute mystery novelist and amateur detective, captivated audiences for 12 seasons on CBS, from 1984 to 1996, and spawned four television films. While Octavia Spencer once attempted a reboot, Curtis has long envisioned a cinematic adaptation, breathing new life into the character.

Jason Moore, celebrated for directing the musical hit "Pitch Perfect" and episodes of popular series like "Dawson’s Creek" and "One Tree Hill," has been tapped to helm the project. The screenplay is penned by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo, known for their work on "Dumb Money," with a powerhouse team of producers including Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Aditya Sood, Lexi Barta, and Jacqueline Garell.
