Mia Goth, known for her roles in Pearl and Frankenstein, recently revealed the extraordinary lengths taken to maintain secrecy while auditioning for the film.
Goth, who will portray Melantho, one of Penelope’s handmaids, shared her experience in a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. She described a process akin to the heavily guarded procedures employed by major franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Actors were kept in the dark about the specific roles they were vying for.
"I auditioned for The Odyssey," Goth explained. "They gave me dummy sides, so it had nothing to do with the script. […] And then I got the job, and then I found out that—I had to accept the job before I could even read the script and find out what the role was. So that was a new process."
